I am an electronic musician & DJ, a recording & touring member of The Magnetic Fields, composer/instrumentalist for Future Bible Heroes (whose members include TMF’s Stephin Merritt & Claudia Gonson) and former keyboardist for Figures On A Beach.
As a DJ, my ManRay events are currently:

- CHROME: Industrial and other Dark Things that go Bump in the Night (Resident DJ / Founder / Promotions) first Fridays.
- FANTASY FACTORY: ManRay’s legendary Fetish Night is back (Resident DJ, alongside DJ Static) every 3rd Friday. 9pm-2am.
- “HEROES”: 80s/electro/post-punk night (Resident DJ / Founder / Promotions), every Saturday. (9pm-2am)

I’ve appeared as a guest DJ at Ceremony Boston, Superstition, Fifty Four, Rogue Burlesque (OBERON), Trani Wreck (OBERON), & several other Boston/Cambridge events, spun alongside Lol Tolhurst (Hojoko), have been on the bill as DJ in Boston and Cambridge with Marc Almond (The Sex Cells tour) (Paradise), Book Of Love (Brighton Music Hall), She Wants Revenge (The Middle East), VNV Nation (Paradise 2x, Royale, ManRay), Gary Numan (Paradise 2x), Peter Murphy (The Middle East, Paradise 2x), OMD (Paradise 2x), Chameleons Vox (Middle East 3x), Modern English (Middle East), Nitzer Ebb (Paradise), Skinny Puppy (Avalon), Echo & The Bunnymen (Paradise 2x), Ladytron (Paradise), Covenant (Paradise & Brighton Music Hall, ManRay), IAMX (TT The Bear’s Place 2x), The B-52’s (Tanglewood, Boston Symphony Hall), The Crüxshadows (the original ManRay, The Middle East), and several bands who performed live at the original ManRay, including Alien Sex Fiend, Suicide, Faith & The Muse, Bella Morte, Apoptygma Berzerk, Wolfsheim, And One, ohGr, Christian Death, KMFDM, Pigface, Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated, Dead Or Alive, etc., and DJ’d many nights at former local Cambridge hotspot River Gods.
DJ History:
• Detroit in the early to mid 80s: I spun records at Todds and The Asylum.
• Cambridge/Boston: I DJ’d at punk/industrial/goth club Ground Zero from around ’89-’91, started spinning records at the original ManRay in 1986 and later became head resident DJ until its closing in mid 2005. After that, “HEROES” maintained residences at Toast (Somerville MA), Axis (Boston), TT The Bear’s Place (Cambridge), Brighton Music Hall (Boston), Machine (Boston), The Middle East (Cambridge), and Sonia (Cambridge) until ManRay reopened. “HEROES” now falls to Earth every Saturday at Manray.
AS A MUSICIAN: I appear on The Magnetic Fields’ most recent Nonesuch releases “Quickies” & “50 Song Memoir” as well as the 3CD opus “69 Love Songs”, which we’ll be touring for to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024. I’ve recorded 3 albums and 3 EPs with Future Bible Heroes (Merge), contributed the title music for Neil Gaiman’s “A Short Film about John Bolton”, played synths & keys with Figures On A Beach on 3 indie-released EPs and 2 albums (Sire/WB), and have remixed tracks for Koishii & Hush, Freezepop, The Crüxshadows, My Favourite & Boy In Static.
